Gutter Clutter

Today I was reminded of the importance of keeping your gutters clean. A down pipe clogged with pine needles needed to be removed all together to have the debris removed.
This down pipe happened to be equipped with a debris trap ( as seen in the picture) This allows a person to simply open the trap and remove debris, however, when it is not done regularly, extreme clogging is the result. Due to the clogged down pipe, the gutters began to flood and the end result was water damage to a lower level roof and a lot of dirty water splashing onto the home.

Besides emptying out your debris trap regularly when you are living in an area surrounded by pine trees, regular gutter maintenance and cleaning could also prevent these problems.
